RASS LEELA

Raaslila - tells about Krishna's childhood. According to the Bhagwat Purana, Krishna and the gopis had danced the Raas on the banks of the Yamuna at Vrindavan. When the gopis felt conceited about Lord Krishna dancing with them, he disappeared from their midst. In the agony of separation from their beloved Krishna, the gopis enacted his lilas (divine episodes of his life) which in course of time came to be known as the Raaslilas. The charming childhood pranks of Shri Krishna constitute the main them of these dramas.

BHAGWAT KATHA
The Shrimad Bhagwatam describes the life stories of the 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Amongst these, the tenth volume narrates, in infinite detail, the story of Lord Krishna.
Written by Sage Ved Vyasa, the Bhagwatam leaves no topic untouched. Not just issues relating to self-liberation but even our day-to-day problems have been effectively resolved in the Shrimad Bhagwat. Hence it can be emphatically stated that the Shrimad Bhagwat is an exposition, which explains human life very clearly, it is a direction leading to the ultimate liberation of the soul. It is therefore an important guide for the conduct of human beings in all their affairs.

...a Seven Day Katha.

Ordinarily, reading and listening to the Shrimad Bhagwat is a weeklong religious commitment, this commitment dates back to when the Bhagwat Katha was first recited on the banks of the Ganges. The original Katha was recited by Sukhadev Goswami to the ill-fated King Parikshit when he had only seven days to live. It is said that by listening to such a seven-day narration of the Bhagwat Katha, King Parikshit attained liberation of his soul! Bhagwat Katha is recited in modern times for the upliftment and welfare of the people and society, who, by listening to this Katha would understand God and learn the way to reach him, helping inducing spiritual growth within themselves and most importantly becoming righteous and virtuous human beings.
